On December 14, 2022 Dr.Horenovsky, Ing.Broz and prof. Pidlisnyuk participated at the Czech-Finnish Matchmaking Seminar on Upcycling hosted by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Helsinki. The event had a goal to enhance the Czech-Finnish mutual cooperation and trade exchange, to overview the innovative ideas in circular economy framework with the stress on soil wastes, and to initiate a new networking between business, science and communities.
30 Finnish companies, associations, governmental entities from the state and province levels participated in the seminar along with 10 Czech companies and organizations.
Ambassador of the Czech Republic H.E. Adam Vojtech welcome participants. The keynote speeches were delivered by Director for the Circular Economy Kari Herlevi, Sitra; Managing Director Mia Nores, Finish Environmental Industries; and Vice-Chairman Johanna Alakerttula, Finish Waste Management Association. The followed reports, discussion and 50 B2B meetings were concentrated at the innovative know-how and products in upcycling of waste ensuring the circular economy solutions.
Ing.Broz delivered report on the framework of Cluster WASTen activities, and prof. Pidlisnyuk introduced applied science at UJEP and results of MiscanValue project.
While at the seminar Dr.Horenovsky, Ing.Broz and prof. Pidlisnyuk had a meeting and conversations with Ms.Anne Kaiser, Saint-Gobain Finland; Ms. Mika Kolari, Senior Business Advisor on EU funding, Mr. Pirkko Eteläaho, Project Manager on Circular economy, Business Tampere. Prof Pidlisnyuk agreed with Senior Lecturer Dr. Eeva Aarnio, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences to initiate the Erasmus exchange. MFA David Minarik, Myco and Mr.Luuk Tatu, Basic Xaas Accelerator expressed the interest to MiscanValue results concerning using Miscanthus biomass as substitution materials in the technological processes they utilized.
